About Mara Jewellery
Having spent much of her working life in an office facing a computer, Jane Garrett then went to live in France for a few years which gave her inspiration and time to indulge her creative side! Mara Jewellery doesn't produce a catalogue of Jane's work because each piece of jewellery is unique - no two pieces are exactly the same.
Jane finds inspiration in many things, from the colours of nature to fashion and trends and particularly enjoys the challenge of working with vintage beads, creating new jewellery from beads with a history - so we hope you will find something which you will enjoy wearing.

Vintage beads
Some of Jane's designs use vintage beads, combined with other modern materials, providing designs with beads taken from jewellery with a history. In some cases the age of the beads will be stated, but the term "vintage" will also describe beads that have been previously owned and recycled or are second-hand.
Vintage beads may, by their very nature, have some signs of wear such as small scratches, but Jane doesn't use more badly damaged beads, e.g. those with large chips.
Important Information
Jane describes all items as accurately as possible and would obviously wish you to be happy with any purchase made, so if the description of any item needs clarification or you require any further information about the item, please contact Mara Jewellery BEFORE making a purchase. All questions will be answered as quickly and accurately as possible.
Although much of the jewellery is nickel free, this is not always the case and so cannot be guaranteed. However, earring posts/ hooks/ loops are always Sterling Silver, unless otherwise stated.
Many of the beads used are glass; inappropriate handling or exposure to sudden changes in temperature may cause breakage. Broken glass is dangerous and may cause injury.
Jewellery obviously contains small component parts and so all products are unsuitable for children.
Care of your Beaded Jewellery
Try to store your jewellery without twisting or scrunching it as this may affect its shape when you are wearing it.
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat - particularly important for metal or silver beads as these will tarnish more quickly if exposed to the air.
Clean beaded jewellery with a damp cloth but do not immerse in water. If silver is tarnished, use a silver-polishing cloth or silver-cleaning fluid and wipe with a clean, soft cloth - anything abrasive will scratch the surface.
